Getting someone to click on your ad.
Think about it. You need to get peoples' attention. And the words "Yoga Lessons" are not going to bring you a flow of new clients. Neither are the words "Hatha Yoga" or "Iyengar Yoga". Because people aren't up all night dreaming of taking yoga lessons. Well, most people anyway. I don't count. ![]() But people are up at night hoping for relief of back pain, reduction of stress, losing weight, getting in shape, fitting into a bikini in time for swim suit season. This is what is going to get them to open your ad. From that point on, guess what you talk about... The subject line you just wrote. That's what they are looking for. Now pretend you are talking to your 8 year old daughter. (Don't have one? You can borrow mine.) Explain exactly why these people should work with you. Answer the question at the back of their mind, "Why should I care about yoga." Make yoga relevant to their lives and get them to pick up the phone and call you. How long should your ad be? Long enough to answer every conceivable question they might have. And Craigslist isn't just for privates. You can use it for studios or classes as well. I've gotten great feedback from people using Craigslist to get new clients. Let me know what works for you. Namaste! Harlan |
