Default How Do You Use The Internet To Attract Clients?

Before I get started on discussing the use of the Internet to attract clients,
please share with me if:

1. You have your own website (if you do, please provide the site address (url)
2. What you are doing to attract people to your site?
3. What kind of results you are getting from your site?

Peace.

Harlan

Arrow Studants and net

Hi,
I am from Brazil. My yoga school is YOGABHUMI INSTITUTO DE YOGA and my site is Yogabhumi Instituto de Yoga.

In many curses that I did in 2006, there are a lot of people that came beacause of the e-mails that I sent.

My site is about articles of classical techinics on yoga, like asana, pranayama, mudra, and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. The first objective is to be a resource for my studants, to learn more profound the lessons that I give in the classes.

Many people look for yoga in Google, and in this way my site is found.

2. We have it listed on our brochures, flyers, business cards, craigslist ads. We are also listing it in online directories. ie:

Largest Yoga Directory to find a Yoga Classes :: Yoga Events :: Yoga Products :: Yoga Retreat Centers :: Yoga Teacher's Training
http://www.yoga411.com
Yahoo! Local - Find businesses and services near you.
Yellow Pages and more phone book services at Yellowbook.com
yoga position for beginners, 2006 Retreat Yoga
Body Mind Spirit DIRECTORY - Holistic Health , Alternative Medicine , Natural Healing , Spirituality
Website2007.org on 2007

3. What kind of results you are getting from your site?
We are getting good response. It seems more often than not I hear that they found us searching online. We come up 1st in google when you search our town and yoga. Students use the registration form to sign up for classes. They use it to check out the most current schedule, so it seems to be very useful even after gaining new students.

Hi,
I use email, Craigslist, and my website to promote my businesses! Craigslist is the best so far. Very fast responses.
Best,
sara

Default Website to attract students

My studio website is Harmony Yoga of Ann Arbor - Welcome (Harmony Yoga in Ann Arbor, MI)

My webmistress is starting up her own web design business, and she designed and maintains my website and is paid with free yoga classes. It's a good arrangement for both of us!

As LucyAnn has done, I've listed the website on different online directories, but she has a much longer list than mine -- I will look into all these lists (thank you Lucy Ann!)

My studio and my website are fairly new -- I started my studio in January. The area I live in is saturated with yoga teachers and studios, most with their own websites, so my studio doesn't come up right away when people do an online search for yoga in my city (it comes up more quickly through Yahoo than through Google), BUT it is still the second most effective advertising tool I have.

The most effective advertising has been word of mouth. Third (but may soon become second) is having people walk by my door and take brochures. We're next to the restrooms, and anytime anyone in the building needs to use them, they have to walk by my studio. There's a massage therapist who also recently moved into the building, and her clients in particular have picked up my brochures.

I've also tried craigslist, but haven't created very effective ads yet. I'm still playing around with that.

Karen

Hi there! I'm new to all of this and recently posted an ad to Craig's List for Albuquerque. All the responses I've gotten are like this - almost identically worded! - & I'm suspicious.

Hello Teacher,
My name is Ola Benson,i can read your description and i am highly impressed and interested in your lesson ,my son is coming for an holiday pension in your area,he is 19 years old i don't want him to be less busy in the time of the day and i have decided to let him be atending your lesson , so he will be coming 2 hours in a day (9 am to 11 am) or at your leisure period,so i want you to calculate the cost for 2week and send me the total cost and i will be paying you with US money order or Cashier's Check that will be easy for you to cash in the state,so get back to me with your cost.
I will await your response...
Warmest Regards
Ola Benson

Have you received inquiries such as this? Have they been serious?

Here is my response:

Hello, Ola!

I'm pleased to receive note of your interest. Please tell me, where do you get this letter? You are the third person I've received a nearly identical letter from and I'm wondering whether you are all connected by a company or a program.

I have availability at the end of May now, but booking is brisk. Lessons are 60/hr singly, or 50 booked in blocks, as the ad says. Two hours a day is too much for a student, unless we are exploring meditation, too. Even then, 5 days a week is the maximum I recommend. So for 2 hours, 3 days a week for two weeks I charge $600. I also am not available before Noon.

Where is your son staying while in Albuqueque? What is his fitness level? What is his prior experience in yoga? Is he a beginner, or does he come with some training and notions of his own? Is he interested in traditional lessons or outdoor yoga?

I would need answers to these questions and others before accepting your son as a student.

Thank you for your interest. I look forward to further correspondance.
Namaste, Christine

I'll email my listing from Craig's List later....

Christine

Default same message

Hi Christine,
I believe that the email you received is either a scam or hoax. I received a very similar email in response to my Craigslist ad in the San Fransico Bay area. I did not respond. Please be cautious....
Nancy

Can you post the ad here?

And yes, there are all sorts of scams out there. Many of them have to do with cashing foreign money orders. They look authentic but are in fact fake.

Never ever accept a foreign money order or bank check.

Have them pay in US currency.

The goal is to get to your bank and money.

Peace.

Harlan
