Default groove yoga website thoughts

Hi Sara & Harlan -

Thank you again for this site.

I was hoping for some website feedback if possible.

www.grooveyoga.org

I posted in another section but hadn't heard back, which may be because I wrote quite a long post about my history and building up classes rather than privates.

I also didn't space my sentences like this.

So maybe this technuique will work.

Anyway, if you have a moment, any feedback would be appreciated.

www.grooveyoga.org

The website is not yet completed, so critique would be fabulous.

Thanks you so much! Happy Friday to all!

First, coming to your site is very confusing.

There's this "thing" that scurries accross the bottom of the screen.

What is it?

Second, I didn't get the cartoons were yoga until 3rd glance. So it's not working.

When a client comes to your site, you have six seconds to get their attention and pull them in.

If you don't they are gone.

Don't make the clients work.

The benefits of doing yoga are hidden on your site.

They are far more important than the cartoons or the animation.

The first page on the site is about you.

Guess who it should be about?

Your potential clients.

The site doesn't work for me and it probably won't help you get
clients.

It needs major re-thought and re-working.

Namaste!

Harlan

Default groove yoga

Hi Harlan -

Thank you for your input -I appreciate it!

The animation isn't supposed to be there - didn't realize my web guy put it up this weekend in the wrong place without the caption and without the correct animation.

It's something only current students will understand, so it needs to be opn the place where mostly current students look (class playlists, probably).

I'll work on some of your other suggestions.

thanks again!

Lori

Will you marry me?

Please see our video on the ideas page.

You give them one line of questions and then right away tell
them the answer is yoga.

Is this the way you would talk to a friend?

So you want to buy this car, right?

Your new page is much better but is really short on explanation.

You're on the right track.

Peace.

Harlan

What makes you think anyone cares about this?
Do they know what the yoga alliance is? No.
Do they know what yoga fit is? No.
Do they know what yoga poses are? Not likely.
Why would they want personal sessions?

People read websites from left to right.

You left side has nothing of interest?
The fuzzy type style on the top is hard to read?

If you are Gail, who is Gailee?

The right side is much better than the left.

Now expand on the right side and kill the left side.

Show yourself in a yoga posture. You're not on a job interview!

Back to the drawing board.

Namaste.

Harlan The Brutal.

Now, we are really getting close!

OK, the top of your site with your name is not important.

Make the benefits larger and bring them larger.

Bring at least one of your testimonials to the top of the page.

Make your headline in red.

Bring one of your pictures up. Add a caption to it.

Now instead of just listing the benefits, start talking more about them.

Namaste.

Harlan

Go to Scriptlance. $450 is way too high.

Just to let you know I've looked at your site and I'm mulling this over.

There is massive improvement over the early sites but this still looks
home grown.

I'll be back over the weekend with more comments but it's much better.

Peace.

Harlan

Okay, here are some more in depth comments.

You need to test your site at different browser settings. Many people have smaller displays and your site may not show correctly.

Over all, I think you need to have your site professionally designed. Certain areas of your site are graphically weak. The captions under the pictures don't look like captions.

Break up your testimonials on the page. Your 3rd testimonial is way too long.

A good testimonial would read: (tongue in cheek)

"Last week I was in a wheelchair, this week thanks to Gailee, I'm on Dancing With the Stars."

The Red Headline on the background you've chosen is hard to read.

Your benefits are a list but not conversational.

You are on the right track but there's more to do.
Harlan
