Default Low no. of searches for keywords

Hi Harlan & Sara,

Great stuffs so far!

Anyways - I have got a question regarding Pay Per Click Advertising.

Some of the keywords I have bidded are returning a very low number of searches.

In fact, a vast majority are all one digit figures (Between 2 to 5)

And a day has already passed.

There are ZERO CTR

What should I do?

Harlan, what might be considered a decent number of searches per day for a particular keyword to be profitable?

Thanks -

Andrea

First, if I understand you correctly, your campaign just started.

Give Google a couple of days to get started.

Don't worry about low number of searches yet.

If you have a lot of impressions but still zero CTR it means...

You need to add more prana to your ads....

Translation - make them stronger.

Pay per click is not the time for understatement.

Watch your campaign closely.

After a while, it's on auto-pilot.

I haven't adjusted Sara's campaign in six months.

Peace.

Harlan

Oh, Harlan... before I forget... what Keyword Research Tool do you recommend?

I'm using that Good Keyword Software.

Well, remember I do this for a living so I have a half dozen
or so programs that generate keywords.

I even have some "custom made" software that generates
thousands of keywords.

I use Wordtracker myself but it's expensive and I don't recommend it for yogis/yoginis.

You can get a one day Free trial which should be enough.

Also, there are now tools that let you look at your competitor's campaigns.

Oh, did I say that? Me?

Use the Google tool extensively.

But here's the deal...

80% of your traffic is going to come from 20% of your keywords.

It's finding the 20% and optimizing your site so it matches
those keywords that's the money key.

And for those, common sense is usually enough.

For example, I just did a campaign for a local cosmetic dentist.

I used key words such as:

Boca Raton cosmetic dentist
Boca Raton cosmetic dentistry
Boca Raton dental implants
Boca Raton cosmetic dental implants
Boca Raton smile make over
Boca Raton smile makeover

get it?

That's what most people are going to be searching for

Of course

good cosmetic dentist in Boca Raton will bring up your site if you use braod match.

If you are using local PPC, you can use plain cosmetic dentist too.

As we have seen, some yoga studios don't use local.

Typically I see a studio in Washington DC advertising in Florida.

Why?

Because they like to waste money.

You can contact me privately if you'd like me to look at your PPC
campaign.

We can both log in to your account at the same time and go over it.

Always test multiple ads. I do.

Peace.

Harlan
