Default yoga dreams

Hi, I am registered yoga alliance teacher here in San Antonio, Texas. I teach yoga as well as pilates at a very large fitness facility here in town. I also work full-time for them so I have a fairly nice regular check coming in. It's a nice place to teach and work, however, I would LOVE to open my studio and especially teach private classes. I have no idea where to start and to be quite honest I'm scared. I am a single parent and not to use that as an excuse, but it's scary being the only one responsible for paying the bills! Any help you could pass on to me regarding how to market myself, what to charge, etc. would be greatly appreciated. I've been thinking a lot lately about getting a business plan together, some how obtaining the funding, and just going for it, but then that's REALLY SCARY!! Thanks!

Hi, welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing your dreams.

My grandmother used to say, "From Your Mouth To God's Ears."

We encourage dreams here but dreams are grounded in reality.

Opening a studio is a major, major move.

It will involve hours of planning and research.

Hours of hunting for the money.

Hours finding the site.

Getting it built.

And most people skip the most important part - the marketing plan.

I suggest you look at a bunch of the articles and posts on the forum
so far and start building your private clientele.

As you begin to build a financially balanced base, you will feel more comfortable stepping into new areas and new ground.

But while I'm saying don't rush into things, at the same time I'm saying don't give up on your dreams.

May all your dreams for your future come true.

We'll be here to help.

Peace.

Harlan

Thank you so much for your advice. I will be reading the articles and start working on my private client base. This is a great forum and I am so appreciative for the opportunity to learn and grow in my dream. Thanks!
