Default Feedback on Sara's Adjustment DVD

In the hope that you will appreciate feedback on your upcoming DVD......

I know I have mentioned this before, but want to stress this again before you bring out this DVD.

The camera angle (most of the time) does not work. I get frustrated trying to figure out exactly where Sara is placing her hands on the models. I am watching from the side, but I need to see this from the top if I would ever consider doing these adjustments myself. I want to be able to see the model's spine (so no black shirt please if possible) and where the hands go and how they move.

In a previous snippet I couldn't see what she was doing to the guys legs in savasana because Sara's body was in the way and then I couldn't see what she was doing to his shoulders because his belly was in the way.

This DVD would be so much better if you would get a second camera angle (from above) and some close ups.

Honestly, as it is, I wouldn't buy this DVD because I couldn't use half of the adjustments since they are not clear to me.

Marleen, I've shown the DVD to a few yoginis and they immediately began using the adjustments with their own clients.

Sara is traveling and I'm sure she will respond to your feedback.

I am NOT a yoga teacher - nor do I play one on TV - but I have seen the entire DVD and it seems immediately usable to me.

I think a lot of it has to do with your own comfort level making adjustments.
Each client is going to be unique and I'm not sure if Sara made the video saying, "Place your hands two inches below the trapezius" it would be particularly useful.

These are just my immediate thoughts.

At the same time, we've also gotten feedback asking to be the first to purchase the video so everyone's a little bit different.

As you may know, I've been looking at a lot of different yoga teacher training programs and most of them do not spend a lot of time teaching adjustments.

Some programs don't cover them at all. Sigh...

And no, I don't want to teach yoga full time.

Default I just think it could be better

I have been taught adjustments and I am comfortable doing them. However, I have also been taught that it is very, very important that you do the adjustments exactly right and not use force. Especially when putting pressure on the spine and back. That may be why I am not jumping up and down to be the first in line.

I am not sure if Sara saying 'two inches below the trapezius' would be as helpful as just showing a close up of exactly where. For me it would make the difference between a good DVD and a great DVD.

I think you're missing the point entirely.

Not only is Sara showing you where, pretty explicitly, where to position yourself, she is also constantly checking in with the client, to see if everything is okay.

Other than a 52 camera shoot, I'm not sure what else would make you happy.

It is just not possible to cover every conceivable angle.

Peace.

Hi,
Just in the two adjustment vids that we've been provided, has given me much to think about. Initially, even though I was taught in my teacher training hands on adjustments, I've not done adjustments normally. But the thought of getting to each student in a class (which is what I teach 80% of the time), is undaunting, and my "getting out of my box" is to get to each student, either with a suggestion/adjustment or in my presentation of the final relaxation.

Its been a challenge for me. The vids have helped me see that it can be done, and the asking of permission to touch is very important!

Well, that is my 7 cents worth.

Smile No need to get defensive

Hey, I was just trying to provide some helpful feedback.
I never said it was bad, only what would make it better in my opinion.

And if you don't agree, you don't agree.
I can live with that.
I'm sure you can too.
