Smile YogaFit

Harlan, I guess I'm not understanding where all of this came from. I would never be a part of an organization that insults or puts down another. In addition to being Level 1 trained in YogaFit I am also a Level 3 2nd Degree Black Belt with the International Taekwondo Alliance. I will be a certified instructor in May 2008. Because of YogaFit I am able to balance better, my mind is calmer when I execute moves, I am focused more, my endurance has increased due to connecting with my breath and so much more. My organization has partnered with YogaFit because we believe in the balance that yoga can bring to the art of Taekwondo. It has worked and so many TKD artists have testimonies of changes and benefits that YogaFit has brought to them. I plan on going through YogaFit levels 2-5 and I believe in what Beth Shaw is doing. If you read her biography you will see how and why YogaFit was brought into fruition. I also love what you and Sara are doing. I love the way Sara teaches and I love your ideas for marketing. I take from several sources and implement them in what I do. That allows me to be well-rounded and gives me choices when I want to try something different. I believe this world is big enough for us to have a difference of opinion but, still be respectful of each other's beliefs and practices. You say that this is not a fight but if you read some of your posts you may find that some of them are some what offensive. I was taken aback by some of your posts. I don't plan on unsubscribing from this site. I love it. Let's just agree to disagree. Love and Peace...ps Sara I loved your adjustment video. Do you have any full length video's of an actual session? I would love to buy one.

Default Time Magazine Article

Hi Harlan & Sara

Check out this article When Yoga Hurts - TIME

I think its interesting that out of an estimated 70,000 yoga instructors, Yoga Alliance has certified 16,168 at the 200hr level.

Namaste
Karen

We support YogaFit's 200/500 trainings.

We can not support or recognize the quickie 2 day level I certification.

We can not believe it is safe for someone to teach yoga with such minimal number of exposure to yoga.

As the Time article points out, yoga injuries are on the rise.

A stepped program for teaching yoga is a good thing.

Telling people they can teach after two days is not a good thing.

Default Yoga fit

I wanted to read what everyone had to say about the 2 hour teacher training program. I am glad there were some positives. I am considering it because I don't want to be a full yoga teacher, but as an art instructor, I have found myself sharing my yoga with students who sit too long! And I am untrained, so some training would be the responsible thing for me to do. I don't want to spend thousands of dollars on certification - I already did that for art.

What's the worst that can happen to a student during an art class?

What's the worst that can happen to a student during a yoga class?
How about life-long injury?

Namaste.
