Default Yoga Teacher Training

I just have a question. I am not yet a yoga instructor but I am very interested in becoming one. I really don't know how to go about doing this I also have two small children which may make things hard, but I'm willing to try. If anyone has any suggestions it would be a great help

Hi, there are many many places you get trained as a yoga teacher.

Please share a little bit more about yourself and I'm sure others
will chime in and give you some advice.

Peace.

Default Yoga Training

Hi! I have 5 children so I chose a certification program that allowed me to do most of my studying at home. Living Yoga Program: yoga teacher training You study at your own pace and attend the hands-on intensive at your convenience. The intensive is at an Ashram which was a great experience and the instructors are absolutely awesome. It was really great.

Hope this helps!

Lightbulb Teacher Training

Also try The Temple of Kriya Yoga's Hatha Yoga Teacher's Training Home Study program. Most of your study is done at home. You are required to attend some retreats for full certification.

TKY is registered with Yoga Alliance, but you must attend all retreats to become an RYT (registered yoga teacher). The nice thing is, you can attend the retreats when you can fit them into your schedule. When I went through their 200 hour program, the retreats were 4 days in length and offered 4 times per year.

Hope this helps...

I'm looking at teacher trainings myself - although I don't want to become a yoga teacher.

But I do want to personal growth opportunity it offers.

I'm looking closely at Dharma Mitra's 10 day intensive in NY.

It's goes from 7:30 AM to about 9:30 PM for 10 insane days.

Oh, I think they give a lunch break...

Could my stomach be rumbling already? It's two months away!

I know JoJo posted this question some time ago, but I wanted to point out that many yoga schools offer programs which only require you to attend a workshop one weekend a month, which can be quite workable for many people. I have a fitness yoga certification now, but will be attending a Yoga Alliance registered school this spring/summer to take it up a notch and get my RYT200. My kids are older, and I only have to make arrangements for one weekend per month. They can spend time at a friend's house, and I am only one hour away driving distance, so I will be home each night. This would seem to work for us. There are many options out there, so don't give up.

It's never too late to post a response.

Besides, teacher trainings change with the times.

Thanks for posting.

Peace.

Hello,

I really enjoyed my yoga journey through YogaFit International Training Systems, Inc. The training actually came to my hometown at the time, and as a parent with three active children, the first level workshop on the weekend helped me fit it into my schedule. As I started to do my community service, and started teaching, I wanted more. So as trainings came around to Texas, I traveled a short distance every so often, to take Seniors (which at that time was 2 days) training, which was my favorite training thus far.

I then went to California to take their level 2 training and at that time they were listening to their customers, in that they wanted more traditional aspects in their trainings, and offered at that time Level 3 for the first time.
Again, I wanted more, so as Level 3 was offered again in Texas, I took it at that time. Nice that it was spread out, in that I was able to absorb what I had just learned and to put it into what I was teaching at the time.

There was another young lady at the time taking an every weekend training for a year. She had to travel 3 hours every weekend back and forth to acquire this training, but she had no kids, so that worked for her. It took her only a year, and it took me 22 months to get my RYT with YogaFit. What is amazing is, that our teaching styles are very similar. She is more into the sanskrit/philosophy aspects than what I am though.

When I first started there were only two levels of training, Levels 1 and 2, and the various other trainings (Seniors, Prenatal, Kids, YogaButt, YogaStrength).

I really liked that they listened to their customers, and the customers wanted to be more into the varried aspects of yoga. I'm pleased that they are becoming a Registered Yoga School for both the 200 and 500 level.
